Delta Career Advancement Center
Recognized as a Regional Training Center in the state of Alaska, the Partners for Progress in Delta, Inc. (PPD) operates the Delta Career Advancement Center located in Delta Junction, AK. The founding partners of the PPD worked together for two years to raise the funds for the design and construction of a 9,600 square-foot career center. The Department of Defense through a community impact grant to the City of Delta Junction, grants from the Rasmuson Foundation and the Denali Commission, and generous contributions from businesses and individuals made the project possible.
The Delta Career Advancement Center is a multiple-use facility used by the partners and others for a range of adult and high school training and educational courses and programming. Besides the 7,000 square-foot shop, essential for the Construction Trades program, a critical component of the Delta Career Advancement Center is the space allocated for two formal classrooms. A two-way smart classroom provides instructors with a range of media options. A computer lab is equipped with the latest technology. This space accommodates both adult and high school learning needs of the community. Since its completion in January 2005, the facility has been used from 8 am until 9 pm most weeks during the academic year with specialized workshops and training opportunities offered throughout the summer months.
